Our 45,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is located in the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center at 2200 Kraft Drive, Blacksburg. It features single office space for pre-launch operations, semi-custom office suites and lab space carefully programmed to accommodate modular growth of Member companies as they expand, shared conference rooms of various sizes, and a secure server facility. Incubation Space
- discount office and laboratory space for emerging companies, including program standard furniture, office supplies, and copying
- all CRC tenant services and facilities apply, including minimized property taxes
- standard VTCRC policies, rules, and regulations apply
- occupancy of incubation space is subject to formal application and acceptance under the following criteria
- the company is a Member in good standing and financially able to pay rent on a regular basis
- the company is separately incorporated, free-standing entity, not a division of some larger company
- the company is equipped with a business plan that is documented and acceptable to the Director of VT KnowledgeWorks
- the company’s local senior executive must participate in a Presidents' Council, subject to the then-current fees for Members
- the total space available to any single company is 3,000 rentable sqft. More space may be rented, but the rent discount will not apply beyond 3,000 sqft
- the maximum time that the discount will apply is three years from first occupancy
- the VT KnowledgeWorks Equity Participation Policy applies to all companies renting under this program
Conference Room Facilities
- Lakeview – a “signature” room with a large, flat screen monitor, tele-conferencing hookup and table seating for 12-15
- Retreat – a “parlor” setting, furnished with mixed, upholstered seating for as many as 12
- Venture – a mid-sized meeting room, furnished with two square tables that can optionally connect, to accommodate seating for 8
- Brainstorm & Innovation – smaller meeting rooms, furnished with a single oval table, 6 swivel chairs, and 2 soft chairs
