As a senior executive and consultant, Jim helped
to build (and sell) a number of successful enterprises. Under his
direction, small businesses have cultivated and consummated significant
contracts with companies like Ford, Alcoa, Texaco, General Dynamics,
McDonnell (now Boeing) Aircraft, and Goodyear. And he was part of
the top management teams of companies that were grown and sold to
Citicorp, Orbital Sciences, Altair Engineering, and MSC Software.
He served two companies as President, both university technology
spin-outs, one from the University of Texas at Austin, and the other
from Washington University in St. Louis. Both were acquired by major
software companies. As a CFO he successfully managed the financial
and administrative affairs of a fast-growing company as it jumped
from 30 employees to 300.
Jim understands growing businesses, including the challenging dynamics
of bringing fresh ideas, good people, complementary organizations,
and capital together to make good things happen.
