VTKW Program: The KnowledgeWorks Process

A competency-based approach to business incubation -

VT KnowledgeWorks assists in the planning, launch, and growth of technology-based enterprises at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center in Blacksburg, Virginia. We provide a comprehensive mix of services carefully designed to reduce risk in a systematic manner by nurturing core business competencies within each Member company, by helping them maintain strategic focus, minimizing their administrative overhead, and supporting their executive leadership.

The VT KnowledgeWorks process is designed to maximize each Member company’s potential for above average growth and profitability. The ultimate objective in each case is typically a timely liquidity event that provides above market returns to all shareholders. While there can never be a guarantee of success, we are confident that the program we have created will generate an unusually high percentage of successful graduates.

VT KnowledgeWorks has two Program Tracks, one for “standard” ventures that are fully commercial in nature from the outset, and one for innovative research companies seeking initial funding by government programs such as SBIR and STTR. Click below for more detail.
