VTKW Program: Strategic Fellows Program

in conjunction with the Pamplin College of Business

Program Overview & Objective

The VT KnowledgeWorks Strategic Fellows Program provides senior strategic assistance to VT KnowledgeWorks Member companies at a critical phase of the start-up process, after the early stages of planning, but before the launch.

Fellow Selection Criteria and Responsibilities

Fellows are selected from among the senior faculty of the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech and from among senior local business leaders with technology commercialization experience. The review and nomination process takes place during the Spring Semester; and Fellow appointments are effective June 1 of each year.

Each Strategic Fellow provides up to 40 hours of consultation over the course of a year, serving as many as 10-12 companies during that period. A modest honorarium is provided through the generous support of our corporate sponsor.

Fellow Selection process

The Dean of the Pamplin College of Business appoints a committee from the College’s MBA Alumni Advisory Board that seeks nominations and reviews submitted applications for the Fellow positions. The committee proposes to the Dean two Fellows for one-year appointments.

The review and nomination process takes place during the Spring Semester; and Fellow appointments are effective June 1 of each year.
